Here is an interesting concept, a floating four storey high data center on the banks of San Francisco Bay.
Google is currently building this floating server farm, and is testing the concept of utilizing sea water to both cool and power all of the computing infrastructure on-board.
The design is based on a patent filed by Google back in 2008 based on the foundation of building a data center on a floating barge and harvesting sea water to fuel the environment.
According to CNET, this floating DC is in its final build phases and should be going on-line shortly to commence testing.
